Highest Tax Paying Bollywood Actors of 2012
Salman Khan is enjoying a golden run at the box office and, not surprisingly, is the highest taxpayer in tinseltown for the quarter ending September. Salman paid advance tax of Rs. 8 crore, 3 crores more than the amount he paid in September 2011. Akshay Kumar came next with a tax payment of Rs. 7.5 crores while Big B paid a round figure of Rs. 5 crores despite a single release- Department, which failed miserably. Shahrukh paid pretty much what he paid last year- 5 crores while Amir Khan's paid 3.25 crores, Rs 1.25 crores less than previous year probably on account of the money spent on Satyameva Jayate. Soon to be groom Saif Ali Khan paid Rs. 3 crores despite a relatively lean run at the box office.
'Heroine' star Kareena is not far behind Saif at 2.2 crores while Katrina paid the second highest tax amongst female leads by paying 2.6 crores. The biggest female taxpayer in Bollywood is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who paid 3 crores despite not being seen on the big screen after her 2010 release Guzaarish.
